This is your guide as a newly admitted student to the MPH program in Rennes. It helps you plan your journey to France, and ensures a smooth start to your studies at EHESP.
Before arrival
Looking for accommodation
Securing your housing should be at the top of your list of things to get started with. It is important to start looking for somewhere to live as soon as you are admitted.
Paying your tuition fees (if required)
Students are charged different fees depending on whether they are classed as EU or NON EU citizens for fee purposes.
Your enrollment letter included the rate of tuition fee payable for your enrolment in the MPH.
If your enrollment letter contained a provisional fee rate, it is important that you check our website to know the actual fee payable for your programme.
Find out how to pay your tuition fee and what payment options you have.
Apply for a visa
If you are a citizen of a country in the European Economic Area, you do not require a residence permit (titre de séjour) or a visa. A valid identity card or passport is adequate. It must be valid for at least the next 6 months.
If you are a student of another nationality, you are required to have a Student long stay visa and a current passport.
You must obtain your visa before arriving in France! All students from outside of the European Economic Area and Switzerland must obtain a student long stay visa”D” (for stays in France longer than 3 months).
Key points to consider : Preparing your budget
Before you arrive to Rennes, you need to check that you have sufficient funds to cover your living costs as well as your tuition fees for two years of study at EHESP. The cost of living in France is relatively high compared to other countries and you must be prepared for this.
EHESP unfortunately can’t offer financial support to cover for your living and study costs. You therefore need to finance your stay in Rennes with grants, study assistance from your home country and/or personal funds.
Prepare important documents to bring
As international students preparing to study in France, please ensure you bring the necessary documents. It’s advisable to have copies of all these documents.
Preparing these documents in advance will help ensure a smooth transition to your studies in France.
Contact the CMI – Rennes International Mobility Centre
The Rennes International Mobility Centre (CMI Rennes) was created on 15 January 2009 as a consortium of institutions. As part of its consortium, EHESP can benefit from all their services.
The CMI Rennes aims to provide services for international students, PhD students, and researchers who are participating in international mobility programmes on the Rennes site. Its objective is to enhance the welcome of incoming mobility students and to contribute to the development of the mobility of Rennes students.
We strongly encourage our international students to contact them to be supported about the day-to-day formalities involved in settling and living in France (residence permits, accommodation, transport, health, banking, telephone services, etc.).
