Letter of motivation
Reasons for applying and career plans.
- Your letter should not exceed 600 words
- Write about your motivations for the course: why would you like to study public health, how are your career plans connected with this programme
- Do not repeat information already provided in your CV, however you may develop it E.g. if you mention some facts in your CV (voluntary work, internships, other activities etc.), in your motivation letter you may emphasize aspects of this experience that in your opinion are important to justify your predispositions for a public health programme.
- This essay should not be a literary work. It should provide a concrete justification of why you are a good candidate for the MPH
programme. - It is recommended to mention the specific interest in the area of public health you would like to work on during your studies or/and after.

A scanned copy of your last diploma
Certified true copies of all previous higher education degrees (a bachelor’s degree being the minimum requirement) with the diploma supplement if available, and the official or sworn translation in English if the original document is not either in English or in French.
Official transcripts and mark sheets
Official transcripts and mark sheets in English (or official/sworn English translations if the language of the original document is not in English or in French) from all higher education institutions attended.
Evidence of English proficiency
To be eligible for the Master of Public Health program at EHESP, it is imperative to demonstrate that your command of the English language is sufficiently advanced to ensure your successful completion of the course.
Please note that applications not meeting these languages requirements will not be considered.
- IELTS Academic or IELTS Indicator or IELTS Online: overall band score of 6.5 or above, with no less 6.0 in each component.
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: overall score of 90 or above, with no less than 22 in each component.
- PTE Academic: 63 or above overall, with no less than 59 in each component.
- Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency Certificate: overall score of 180 or above with no less than 175 in each component.
The date of the test must be less than 2 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2024 for the academic year 2026-2027 – the date taken into account is the date of the test, not the date of receipt of the results).
Candidates exempted from providing an English test
Applicants do not have to provide any English language test in the following cases:
- If they are citizens of one of the countries listed here: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada*, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America (but can be asked to prove their level in English).
(*1) Specific condition for Canada: Applicants may provide a Canadian degree so long as they supply sufficient proof from the institution that the degree was taught and examined in English.
- If they hold a previous higher education degree fully taught in English in one of the countries listed above or in Malta (but can be asked to prove their level in English)
- Online studies are not accepted
We advise you to book a place for the language test(s) required as soon as possible. Certain locations may have limited availability of dates that align with the prescribed application deadlines for our Master’s Programme.
References / recommendations
Two forms of recommendation are mandatory (to be filled in online by your referees).
