Differentiated fees for students from outside the European Union
In November 2018, the French government voted to introduce differentiated tuition fees for non-EU students enrolled in a higher education institution for a national degree (bachelor’s or master’s).
Any student who wishes to enrol in a higher education institution in France must pay registration fees relating to each course of study.
Since the start of the 2019-2020 academic year, students from outside the European Union must pay different registration fees from those of French and European students, except in certain cases determined in the national exemption framework.
You are exempt from the differentiated enrolment fees if you meet at least one of the following criteria
- Students who are residents of Québec;
- International students holding a long-term resident permit, as well as students who have declared France as their tax residence, or who have been attached to a French tax household, for more than two years;
- Students who have been granted refugee status or subsidiary protection, as well as the children of individuals holding either status;
- International students enrolled in doctoral programs, the Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR), and third-cycle medical, dental, and pharmaceutical programs, with the exception of short-cycle programs;
- International students of any nationality enrolled in a classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles (CPGE) who are also concurrently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at a French university.
Mandatory tax – CVEC contribution
Contribution to Student Life and Campus (CVEC)
Students are required to pay a Contribution to Campus and Student Life (CVEC) of 105 € for the academic year 2025-2026. This amount may change for 2026-2027.
CVEC fees are mandatory for both EU and Non EU students (excepted for need-based grants holders in accordance with social criteria and for students with refugee status).
Additional study costs to keep in mind

- 0 GHz dual-core processor (64-bit)
- 4 GB RAM
- 1680 x 1050 screen resolution
